Release Coaching

Release Coaching at Dog Ranch Music PR

Release Coaching

$250 / month · month to month

Monthly one on one coaching across the whole release year. Every month you know what your record needs next, why it comes in that order, and how to get it done. You make every decision and take every action. What you get from us is someone who has walked the year many times and knows what has to be on paper before it is too late to ask.

It starts before the master is finished, in the stretch most artists skip, where the splits, the session player agreements, the producer and engineer terms, and the ownership of the master all have to be settled while everyone is still in the room. We make sure you know which ones apply to your record and that they are on your calendar, and we refer you to a music business attorney to get them done properly.

How it works

  • A sixty minute call each month: what moved, one decision, your tracker updated on screen, what is due next
  • An updated release tracker after every call
  • A reminder before each deadline
  • Email answered within two business days
  • When the time comes, a PR campaign that already knows your dates

How long

Twelve to fifteen months is typical from the studio decision, nine from a finished master, and six is the floor once a publicist and a promoter are involved. We take on three or four records at a time, so every calendar actually gets watched.

Best for artists releasing without a label or manager, and small labels running more than one record at once.

Get started

Drop us a line at ron@dogranchmusicpr.com with your target release date and where the record stands: songs written, studio booked, or master finished. No date yet? Say so. That is often the best place to begin.

All release planning options

*Planning and coaching only. We do not register works, file copyright, or log into artist accounts, and we do not draft or review splits or session agreements; for those we refer you to a music business attorney. Nothing here is legal, tax, or financial advice. For folk radio promotion in North America we refer artists to Art Menius Radio. All other radio promotion is decided with you.*
