LISTEN TO Sur la même longueur d’onde
Since emerging in 2014, Mélisande has carved out a distinctive space on the Québec music scene with her innovative électrotrad approach. Her music—rooted in folk traditions and propelled by contemporary production—has earned multiple awards and nominations, while her dynamic stage presence has brought her to over 400 performances worldwide. Known for transforming concerts into high-energy, communal experiences, she continues to build bridges between audiences through rhythm, movement, and song.
With Sur la même longueur d’onde, Mélisande expands that vision. The album features original compositions that seamlessly weave urban grooves, traditional instrumentation, and world music textures into a cohesive and uplifting sound. At its heart is a spirit of collaboration, with an impressive lineup of guest artists including Acadian rapper Jacobus, Acadian legend Édith Butler, Franco-Ontarian artist Damien Robitaille, Congolese artist Kizaba, Mexican artist Mamselle Ruiz, Québécois legend Yves Lambert, Québécois rapper and DJ Seba et Horg, and First Nation artist Katia Rock. Each brings a unique voice to the project, enriching its sonic palette and reinforcing its message of openness and shared experience.
Festive and unifying, the album invites listeners to come together—to dance, sing, and celebrate life on a shared wavelength of connection and camaraderie.
**Focus Track: “À l’abri du tempo” (Sheltered from the Tempo)
feat. Damien Robitaille**
A standout moment on the album, “À l’abri du tempo” pairs Mélisande with social-media star Damien Robitaille for a bright, groove-driven track infused with a vintage disco feel. The song follows a character navigating the intensity of a crowded, fast-moving environment—initially overwhelmed, yet drawn toward the energy of the dance floor.
As the rhythm builds, hesitation gives way to freedom. The track becomes an anthem of release and self-expression, encouraging listeners to step beyond their fears and embrace the moment.
Beneath its upbeat exterior lies a deeper message: a call to reconnect with one’s inner spark, to revive long-forgotten dreams, and to move through life with openness and authenticity. It is, ultimately, an invitation to let go—and to follow the rhythm wherever it leads.
